7 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking Chimpanzee & Big 5 Safari

7 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking Chimpanzee & Big 5 Safari will take you to the Murchison Falls National Park, where you can go on a boat safari as well as game drives. The greatest destination to track chimpanzees is Kibale Forest National Park. The last stop on your tour will be Bwindi Forest National Park, where you will go gorilla trekking.

Day 1 : Drive to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

After breakfast, you will travel to the Ziwa rhino sanctuary before arriving at Murchison Falls National Park. The primary goal of this 70 sq km sanctuary, which is home to over 30 white rhinos, is to reintroduce rhinos to Uganda. This is a great chance for up-close, on-foot observations of the rhinos in their natural habitat. We’ll stop for lunch after this and then head to Murchison Falls National Park.

Day 2 : Game drive & boat safari on the river Nile

You will get up early, leave for a morning game drive on the Northern Bank at 6:30 am, and return to the lodge at approximately 11:00 am. Baboons, buffaloes, giraffes, oribis, hartebeests, Uganda kobs, water bucks, bush bucks, reed bucks, warthogs, and side-striped jackals are among the animals you may witness. The carnivores consist of spotted hyenas, leopards, and lions.

After lunch, you will proceed to the jetty for an afternoon boat ride on the River Nile, during which you may anticipate seeing many crocodiles and hippos along the Nile’s banks. Additionally, if you’re lucky, you might spot birds like cormorants, horn bills, kingfishers, Egyptian geese, pelicans, bee-eaters, Goliath herons, saddle-billed storks, and shoe-billed storks. You will be dropped off at the base of the magnificent Murchison Falls after two hours. Your driver-guide will meet you at the top of the falls after you hike there, and they will drive you back to the lodge.

Day 3 : Drive to Kibale Forest National Park

On the 3rd day of your 7 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking Chimpanzee & Big 5 Safari, you will leave Murchison Falls and head to Kibale Forest National Park after an early breakfast. Depending on the state of the road, we always consider this to be a full-day drive. You get to Kibale at approximately 4:00 p.m. This allows enough time for people who want to visit the area around the crater lakes, which offers breathtaking views of the lakes, for a community walk.

Day 4 : Chimpanzee-trekking experience

After getting up early for an early breakfast, you will head to Kibale Forest National Park’s park headquarters. After a brief introduction by a park employee, a guide will be assigned to you, and they will lead you into the forest where the chimpanzees are located. The best primate tracking experience in East Africa is only available in this park, where you can see chimpanzees, the closest living relative of humans. To shorten the distance between Kibale Forest and Bwindi Forest, we will make a one-night stopover in Queen Elizabeth National Park after lunch.

Day 5 : Drive to Bwindi Forest National Park

You will travel through Ishasha, the southern region of Queen Elizabeth National Park, on your way to Bwindi today. Here, we’ll go on a quick game drive in an attempt to find the lions that climb trees. Numerous elephants, buffaloes, lions, waterbucks, Uganda kobs, leopards, and hyenas are likely to be seen. We will then continue on to Bwindi Forest National Park after that.

Day 6 :  Gorilla-trekking experience

This is the day that is always considered the most important day of the safari. You have to get to the park headquarters by 7:30 am, so you will go there after breakfast. One of the park employees will brief you and the other guests. After that, you’ll meet the head guide, who will lead you into the forest to locate the gorilla family that has been assigned to you. Depending on how far the family you are trekking has moved, the round-trip could take two to seven hours.

You can opt to take a walk through the villages near the forest during the evening, depending on your mood.

Day 7 :  Drive to Entebbe

After breakfast, you will leave Bwindi and travel to Kampala or Entebbe, stopping in Mbarara for lunch en route. Before travelling to Kampala or Entebbe to catch your flight home, you will also have time to stop at the equator for pictures and, if you’d like, some shopping for souvenirs. This will be the last of our once-in-a-lifetime safari to remember.
