Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Fly to Murchison Falls
A Pieland Gorilla Safaris representative will greet you when you arrive at Entebbe International Airport. From there, you will connect for a domestic flight to Murchison Falls National Park. Your safari driver guide will greet you when you arrive at Pakuba airstrip and take you on a game drive before dropping you off at your lodge. After a quick rest and lunch, check in for an afternoon game drive and visit to the falls’ top.
During the game drive, you may see a variety of animals, such as tall giraffes, lions, buffaloes, elephants, wild dogs, hartebeests, waterbucks, oribis, and Uganda kobs.
Ascending to the summit of Murchison Falls offers breathtaking vistas of the Nile River winding through a slender canyon and crashing down to create the world’s most potent waterfall, Murchison Falls.

Day 2: Explore Murchison Falls National Park
Get up early to have a cup of coffee, meet your driver-guide, and go on an early game drive with a trained ranger guide around the northern bank’s Buligi game tracks in search of different animals in the Nile Valley. Keep an eye out for herds of early-rising baboons, waterbucks, Jackson’s hartebeests, Rothschild giraffes, elephants, and buffaloes.
You will be driven back to the lodge after the game drive, where you can have a hearty breakfast and relax until it’s time for lunch.
You will take a launch cruise to the base of the Murchison Falls on the Victoria Nile in the afternoon. You can see a variety of animals on the riverbanks, such as the biggest crocodiles and hippos, herds of buffalo, and a diverse array of birds on the papyrus banks, including herons and shoe bill crocodiles.
Thereafter, you will return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Fly to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Eat breakfast in the morning. Depending on the time of your flight, you will be driven to the airstrip and given a chance to go on a game drive en route to Kisoro airstrip, which serves Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Your guide will greet you at the airstrip and help you make your way to the park. The remainder of the day will be spent relaxing at the lodge.

Day 4: Mountain Gorilla Trekking Experience
After having an early breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters to receive instructions on the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking. You will be paired with a gorilla family in groups of eight, and you will trek through the Bwindi forests in search of the gorillas. Depending on the gorilla family you are trekking and their feeding range, the hike can take anywhere from two to six hours. You will also come across numerous birds and other primates in the forest, including chimpanzees and black-and-white colobus monkeys.
Once you’ve found the gorillas, you’ll get to spend an hour with them watching how they behave, taking special pictures, and witnessing the silverbacks guarding the group while the females tend to their babies.
After picking up your gorilla trekking certificates at the park headquarters, head back to your lodge to unwind for the remainder of the day. After dinner, spend the night.

Day 5: Forest Walk and Batwa Village Visit
After an enjoyable breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for an orientation on a forest walk. From there, you will explore the lush forest by following a number of trails. You can see the falls along the River Ivi-Nkuringo trail with a ranger guide. You can also see a variety of tree species, including ferns and orchids, as well as a wide variety of birds and primates, including olive baboons and black and white colobus monkeys.
After this amazing experience, you will return to the lodge for lunch and short rest.
You will visit the Batwa Community for a cultural excursion in the afternoon. Before the Bwindi forests were declared a protected area, the Batwa pygmy people lived there. Enjoy performances of traditional dances and drama, visit a local herbalist, and discover how different plants and leaves can treat a variety of ailments, including malaria cough. You will also be delighted by the local theatre and dance.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Return to Kampala
You will proceed to the airstrip for your return domestic flight to Entebbe International Airport after breakfast. After that, you can either go to your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala or make a connection for your international return flight.
