Detailed Schedule
Day 1: Getting to know Kigali, Rwanda
You will be welcomed and offered a briefing by the Pieland Gorilla Safaris representative as soon as you arrive in Kigali. After that, you will be transferred to the hotel to unwind and get ready for the activities of the next day.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking – Volcanoes National Park
After an early breakfast and a transfer or drive to the park headquarters at Kinigi, you will receive a briefing prior to beginning your exciting gorilla trekking activity. Depending on the trekkers’ level of fitness and the gorillas’ location, this could take anywhere from thirty minutes to a full day. You will spend an hour observing and learning about the gorillas’ behaviour as you document every moment when you come across them. Later on, you’ll go to a traditional village where you’ll learn about and experience Banyarwanda culture directly.
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
After breakfast today, you’ll check out of the lodge and take a leisurely transfer to South Western Uganda, where you can take in the scenery and the change in topography as you cross the border from Rwanda to Uganda. The trip takes roughly five hours. Make your way to the Bwindi jungles in time for lunch, then unwind for the afternoon before embarking on yet another incredible gorilla trekking adventure.
Day 4: Bwindi gorilla trekking
Before heading to the park headquarters of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park Rushaga sector for a briefing, enjoy an early breakfast and prepare your packed lunch. Here, you will learn the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking. After that, a ranger guide will accompany you through the dense forest and assign you to a gorilla family to track. Depending on where the gorilla family is located, it could take three to eight hours to find the gorilla. You have an hour or so. Throughout the hour, we watch and observe how they behave differently.
Afterwards, you could participate in the Batwa community experience, which entails hiking through the forest and learning about their various lifestyles. Have the chance to participate in the customary dances and songs of the area. Pay attention to the old tales that describe their origins and history.
Day 5: Transfer to Entebbe
