1 Day Rwanda Gorilla Tour Itinerary

Transfer from Kigali to Ruhengeri in the early morning
4:30 a.m. is the early start time for our tour. You will be picked up from your hotel by a driver and tour guide from Pieland Gorilla Safaris either after breakfast or with a packed breakfast for on-the-go. After that, travel for two to three hours to the park headquarters in Ruhengeri to attend the pre-tourist briefing on gorilla trekking.

You will be split up into groups of eight and assigned to a particular gorilla family to visit after receiving the quick tips and tracking guidelines. A ranger guide will accompany you on the search and hike through the forest until you locate the much-anticipated mountain giants. Keep in mind that since the gorillas don’t stay in one spot, the hours spent looking for them will vary greatly depending on where they spend their time.

You will have an hour to spend with the gorillas after you find them. Photographing these incredible alpine animals, understanding their habits, how they eat, play, etc., all while adhering to the instructions that were provided. (Remember: No flash lights on cameras are allowed as they distort the image and cause you to react violently).

On Meeting the Gorilla, Be amazed to see how they play, feed and associate.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that will never be forgotten. After the trek, you can choose to unwind at your favourite lodge, visit neighbourhood projects, take walks in the park’s surrounding villages, and mingle with the locals before making your way back to Kigali, where you will arrive in the evening.
